Lexcan Roofing & Waterproofing Systems, Canada
Lexcan
was incorporated in 1968 to develop and market new, state-of-the-art roofing and waterproofing technology. In conjunction with our sister company Lexcor, we pioneered the use of many modern commercial roofing and waterproofing systems, including EPDM, Modified Bitumen, TPO and fleece-backed membranes.
We also helped develop and build the world's first commercial biogas collection and power generation facility. Over the years, Lexcan has completed tens of thousands of successful roofing, waterproofing and liner installations, ranging from the deserts of Algeria to the frozen tundra of Ellesmere Island in the high Arctic.
The knowledge and experience we have gained in the past has resulted in the quality systems we offer today … quality that keeps our customers coming back to us time after time. |

Fleece Back Specification
Available in New Zealand |
 |
LEXCAN’s fleece-backed system (FBS) is a laminated EPDM sheet vulcanised to a polyester fleece mat. The polyester mat allows the membrane to be applied with hot type III roofing asphalt or with Lexcan’s water based adhesive that locks the membrane to the substrate and, at the same time, provides an additional layer of waterproofing protection. Fleece-backed membrane sheets are seamed together using the Lexseam method. End seams utilize a special adhesive and overlap tape system.
The FBS system is particularly suited for re-roofing over existing built-up roofs. In some cases, the FBS membrane can be mopped directly to the existing roof surface (once cleaned of gravel and dirt and primed with an asphalt primer), eliminating the extra expense of the old roof’s waste disposal.
